About the Journal

A special issue (2019-2020) of our magazine was published For an Independent Poland under scientific editors Mikołaj Ochmański, Dorota Pietrzkiewicz and Jacek Puchalski, which contains articles reflecting on the factors that shaped the culture of the Second Polish Republic, but also allowed its heritage to survive during the tragic times of World War II and the difficult years of the People's Republic of Poland.


The quarterly journal (until 2019 an annual) „Studies into the History of the Book and Book Collections” s a national academic journal in the field of social communication and media sciences of the Department of Book and Media History of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Bibliology at the University of Warsaw edited since 2006. (successor of the journal ‘Z Badań nad Polskimi Księgozbiorami Historycznymi’ published since 1975). The journal publishes the results of research in the broadly understood book culture in a historical context.
