The monumental work Historicum diarium Domus Professae Societatis Jesu Cracoviensis of Jan Wielewicki SJ was developed in the years 1579-1639. The monk presented the most important political, social, religious and cultural events from Cracow and Poland as a whole in a broad historical context. He focused in particular on activities of the Society of Jesus in that time. The work is commonly known as Diariusz (a diary) or Dziennik (a memoir) of Wielewicki. However, the author poses a question what is an actual form of this work – how should it be classified or named.
