Abstract

The article discusses specifics, character and methodology of studies on the history of libraries. The author refers to the essence of source knowledge in this domain, including typology of sources, their critique and usage. He presents selected typologies of sources to the history of libraries in American research literature, from the perspective of domestic studies in this field.
