Abstract

The author defines a reference workshop as a set of different types of sources used in scientific work, in this case in studies on the book art. It consists of information sources, including bibliographies, journals, biographies, correspondence, and the books themselves. Then she analyses selected examples of Polish and foreign bibliographies of different scope and range; bibliographies of bibliographies; book science bibliographies and history of the arts bibliographies. Therefore she determines possibilities and directions of literature searching in studies of the book art researchers. The author concludes with the postulate of collecting all dispersed sources in this topic in one retrospective bibliography of the history of the book art. She also underlines the need of works on current, national and international bibliography of this scope, supporting development of this discipline.
