The issues of studies into book collections of Poznań bourgeois in the 18th century

The author discusses issues related to the bourgeois' book collections in Poznań in the 18th century and their "social presence" in the community. Referring to the literature and property inventories of the Poznań bourgeois, he proved among others percentage share of the books among tangible properties, the structure of the collections (both their content and physical features, e.g. binding), motives of collecting libraries, as well as the ways of their usage and sharing.
