The article is an extensive part of the Ph.D. thesis "Zygmunt Mocarski, the librarian and book researcher", written under the direction of Prof. Barbara Bieńkowska. Joachima Lelewela [The Joachim Lelewel Bibliophiles Society] in Toruń, and research secretary of Towarzystwo Naukowe [The Scientific Society] in Toruń. Z. Mocarski collected his library three times: in Petrograd (1913-1918), in Toruń, independent Poland (1919-1939), and in occupied Warsaw (1939-1941). The author characterises and evaluates each of these collections, describes bindings and exlibrises.
