The library of the Visitants was established in the 17th century. Its history is accessible through two inventories from the 18th and 19th century. In 1703 it encompassed 1289 volumes, in 1887-1782 volumes in Polish and French, devoted predominantly to religious and ecclesiastical matters. Besides, the nunnery kept a separate collection for its young ladies' boarding school (ca. 40 volumes in the 18th century and 400 volumes in the 19th century, including many concerning the history of Poland) and yet another one in the infirmary, to serve patients as well as the medical staff. Both inventories lack detailed book descriptions, but are a good evidence of the size and structure of the library and hence are an important source to the history of monastic libraries and girls' schools in Poland.
