The register of the Brańsk land books from the year 1647

Abstract

The article published in the Materials section is the edition of the register of the Brańsk (Podlachia voivodeship) land books from the year 1647. It is preceded by an introduction, where the Author describes briefly provenance of the register, preserved in the collection of the excerpts from land and municipal acts for Podlachia and Masovia, collected by Ignacy Kapica Milewski, and currently stored in the Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw and the State Archives in Cracow. The register of Brańsk land books belongs to the Warsaw part of the collection; it has survived as an excerpt made at the turn of the 18^th and 19^th centuries for I. Kapica Milewski. Therefore its critical edition is based on the excerpt from the act, not original acts. The register, completed with the list of localities, follows the introduction.
