The author analyses commemorative prints, i.e. texts written by family members, friends or other authors from outside the family, commemorating major events in family life, such as birth, baptism, marriage, death or funeral – published in Königsberg in Johann Reusner’s printing house (1640-1665). Concluding the author states that such publications from this printing house are valuable documentation of the life of educated social classes in the Duchy of Prussia. They also present the culture and customs of the 17th century, as well as a specific form of social communication of that period.
