The article concerns the Masovians’ relations with the Zamojski Academy during the Wasa reign in Poland. Young men from all over Poland undertook education in Zamość, among whom, apart from the decade 1628-1638, students of plebeian (middle-class, sometimes peasant) origin prevailed. The authors, referring to the List of students including 5879 identified entries of the students, determined that there were 256 (4,7%) Masovians among them. Noblemen prevailed – 204 people and the rest belonged to the middle-class. The Masovians undertook studies in Zamość mostly until 1648. This education had been further used in active public life, e.g. participation in nobility councils or holding offices, mostly in Masovia, but also in bordering Podlachia.
