Abstract

The article analyses the Diaries of the priest Baltazar Pstrokoński, Gniezno canon, Poraj coats of arms (1713-1796). The author describes briefly his biography, followed by his memoirs, and she emphasizes the languages used by the priest and his interpretation of the world is described in the Diaries. Concluding, she states that Pstrokoński language is characteristic for the clergy of that time, it results from the education system and influence of the community the diarist lived in. The specific of the reverend’s memoirs resulted from his personality, but also from the culture he belonged to.
