Abstract

Father Szymon Mielecki, living at the turnover of the 16th and 17th centuries, was the Pauline canonist, bibliophile, and can be perceived as an outstanding but isolated liturgist of the post-Trident epoch. The author characterises liturgical works of Mielecki, who is the author of a few manuscript codices, including Collectarium Romanum and the gradual III 913 of Jasna Góra. He joined Trident elements with the traditions of his Order in his works. The works of Mielecki, therefore, testifies changes of the identity of the Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit, and his engagement in preservation of the Pauline cultural specifics.
