Abstract

The article describes early printed books from junior high school libraries in Chojnice and Chełmno, focusing on their former provenances. These collections join many old book collections from Pomerania and individual relics. The early printed books collections of both schools were established as the result of taking over parts of former libraries, and of donations. Currently, approximately 90% of the books from Chojnice from before the Second World War are in the NCU Library in Toruń. As for the library in Chełmno data for another period are available, therefore approximately 60% of the collection from before the First World War is currently in the NCU Library. The results of provenance studies enable the development of a new reference publication about old historical book collections and their current location.
