Historical records from the contents of libraries of Polish learned societies and societies popularizing science on Polish territories during Partitions

Abstract

The article is the result of searching for the sources concerning scientific (general and specific) societies promoting science, active in the years 1795-1918. An interesting set of materials was found, enabling knowledge of an internal structure of the libraries of these institutions. These sources are diversified, often incomplete, however, exploration of inventories, catalogues and other lists of contents of societies' libraries are often the only source available for the researchers.
