The author analyses the content structure of the production of Silesian publishing houses in the Renaissance. This production, originally small and not very diversified, enlarged and enriched over time. However, this publishing repertoire was quite small and local, and the more experienced readers reached for Western editions. A close relation between publishing production and reading interests or needs of a given community can be observed.
