Abstract

The article presents the project „Inventory of «Kultura» Literary Institute Archives” as a base for methodological discussion on processing of the collection of manuscripts and mixed archives. There assumptions is proposed that of the complex catalogue of IKL combined with a plan for public presentation in one database in a unified description form and the „Inventory” itself should be a starting point for methodological dispute on several topics like the basis of a description, collection and unit frames, the idea of an unit, depth of description, catalogers’ freedom of decision, authority headings, but also on the information strategy of the institution’s collection management  The article presents experiences of the mixed team of librarians and archivists as an assumption to proposal of extending the education of both professions with the flexibility to combine the librarian and archivist methodology in processing mixed archives. The Author also pointed out the perspective of including  methodological experience of museum collections’  into discussed issues.
