Needs of research in the field of school and pedagogical libraries

Abstract

The author presents conclusions from his analyses of school and pedagogical libraries' activity in Poland. He indicates the need for research on their participation in the education process, as well as on their place in the national library and information network. He suggests organisational, structural, and functional changes in the school and pedagogical libraries network, as well as calls on changes in the education of teachers and school librarians.
